OSCEOLA COUNTY, FL— Harmony Middle School held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new Educational Agricultural Barn, a hands-on learning facility aimed at enhancing agricultural education and experiential learning for students.
The barn will support coursework in agriculture, science, sustainability, and career exploration. It will provide real-world experiences in animal care, plant science, and modern agricultural practices, reinforcing learning through practical application.
Osceola School Board Member Paula Bronson (District 5) stated that the facility reflects a commitment to innovative, experiential education, preparing students with valuable skills, fostering responsibility, and deepening their understanding of agriculture’s role in the community and economy.
Osceola County Commissioner Ricky Booth (District 5) joined the event and expressed his support. As a former School Board member, son of two educators, and husband of an educator, he emphasized the transformative power of education and his pride in initiatives linking classroom learning to Osceola’s agribusiness roots, preparing students for careers that honor local heritage.

The facility will include space for animal housing, feed and equipment storage, and areas for supervised agricultural experiences and student projects. It will also serve as a resource for community engagement and partnerships with local agricultural organizations.
Construction is expected to begin early 2026. Once completed, the barn will support Harmony Middle School’s agricultural education program for years to come, offering students meaningful exposure to agriculture-related careers and sustainable practices.
The Osceola School District and Harmony Middle School expressed gratitude to Commissioner Ricky Booth for his support in making the project possible.
