Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash on Northbound I-75 in Tampa

A fatal crash on Interstate 75 in Hillsborough County claimed the life of a 25-year-old man from Tampa early Tuesday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred around 6:00 a.m. on March 3, 2026, in the northbound lanes.

A Dodge 1500, driven by the 25-year-old Tampa man, was traveling northbound in the outside lane. Ahead of it was a Chevy box truck, driven by a 35-year-old Valrico man, also traveling northbound on I-75.

The Dodge 1500 overtook and collided with the rear of the Chevy box truck. The box truck came to final rest along the shoulder of the highway.

Upon impact, the Dodge 1500 overturned multiple times, and the driver was ejected from the truck. The ejected driver was thrown into the center lanes and struck by a tractor-trailer driven by a 50-year-old Riverview man, also traveling northbound on I-75.

The 25-year-old Tampa man suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

No other injuries were reported in the press release from the Florida Highway Patrol. The crash remains under investigation.
