The Clearwater Police Department is seeking the public’s help in the ongoing
investigation into Wednesday night’s fatal hit-and-run crash involving a
pedestrian.
The crash occurred at 9:30 p.m. in the 1400 block of Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard.
Elbert Gilbert, 60, died after being struck by a car that then fled the scene.
The car believed to have been involved was recovered by investigators on
Thursday afternoon.
Detectives are seeking to talk to anyone with information on the driver, and
the driver’s actions that night before and after the crash. Anyone with
