Florida Mother Arrested for Allegedly Forcibly Submerging Boy at Gaylord Palms

KISSIMMEE, FL– On December 19, 2025, shortly after 4:30 p.m., Osceola County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the pool area of the Gaylord Palms Hotel following a report of a battery involving a child.

According to the Osceola CountySheriff’s Office, three children were playing in the pool when the splashing became aggressive. Tiffany Lee Griffith, 36, of Fort Myers, entered the pool and yelled at a 6-year-old boy after he allegedly dunked her 6-year-old son underwater. Griffith then placed her hands on the boy’s shoulders and forcibly dunked him underwater for several seconds.

The boy exited the pool with a nosebleed and reported the incident to his parents. Griffith then yelled at the boy’s mother before leaving the area.

Deputies located Griffith and arrested her on a charge of aggravated child abuse. She was transported to the Osceola County Jail and booked. Nothing further at this time.
