Volusia County, FL. – A single-vehicle crash on State Road 415 south of State Road 44 in Volusia County resulted in one fatality and one critical injury early Sunday, October 5, 2025, at approximately 2:04 a.m.
The incident involved a 2008 Ford Fusion traveling northbound on State Road 415. The vehicle failed to maintain its lane and ran off the roadway to the right onto the grassy shoulder. It continued traveling north on the shoulder before its front collided with a tree.
The 23-year-old female driver, from Cocoa, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Next of kin has been notified. She was not wearing a seatbelt.
The 21-year-old male passenger, from Edgewater, was transported to Halifax Health Medical Center in critical condition. Next of kin notification status is unavailable. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
