Polk County, FL- On Monday, September 29, at 10:56 pm, an Osceola County deputy observed a black, 2014 Honda Civic traveling on US-192, near Holiday Trail. The vehicle was reported stolen out of Polk County. Osceola County Aviation responded and maintained a visual on the vehicle as it traveled into Orange County and then back into Osceola County.
FHP was contacted by OCSO for their assistance, with stopping the stolen vehicle. A trooper attempted to stop the Honda Civic on I-4, just east of exit 55, in Polk County. The trooper activated his lights and the vehicle failed to stop. Contact was made between the suspect vehicle and the FHP patrol car. The black Honda Civic came to a stop, due to the vehicle becoming disabled.
The driver of the stolen Honda Civic, Clifford Marvin Pinellas (12/2/77), Kissimmee, Fl, was transported to ORMC and was placed under arrest for an active warrant out of Walton County, Fl. A warrant (in the process of being signed by a judge) from Osceola County Sheriff’s Office will include the following charges: Possession of a stolen vehicle, fleeing an alluding an officer and driving while license suspended. Once the suspect is released from ORMC he will be booked into the Orange County jail on the Walton County warrant, along with Osceola County warrant.
The passenger, identified as Juan Carlos Laguez (06/06/1978), Orlando, Fl, was placed under arrest by Osceola County deputies for: Possession of a controlled substance, Possession of drug paraphernalia, and Trespass in a conveyance. He was booked into the Polk County Jail.
This incident remains under investigation, as additional charges may be placed by FHP.
