Volusia County, FL – On September 21, 2025, at 2:53 AM, a fatal crash occurred on State Road 11 north of Daugharty Road. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling southbound, while a 2013 Nissan Altima was traveling northbound. For an unknown reason, the Chevrolet Silverado veered into the northbound lane, directly into the path of the Nissan Altima, resulting in a head-on collision.
The impact caused the Chevrolet Silverado to overturn onto its right side and become engulfed in flames. Both the driver of the Chevrolet Silverado and the 18-year-old male driver of the Nissan Altima from De Leon Springs, FL, were pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Medical Examiner’s Office will provide an update once the driver of the Chevrolet Silverado is positively identified. Next of kin for the Nissan Altima driver has been notified, while notification for the Chevrolet Silverado driver is pending.
Seatbelt use for the Nissan Altima driver was not in place, and seatbelt use for the Chevrolet Silverado driver is unknown. Helmets were not applicable. The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
