DAPHNE, AL – Former Florida Democratic gubernatorial nominee and former Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum was arrested July 2 in Daphne, Alabama, on multiple drug-related charges, according to a report by TMZ.
Gillum was taken into custody by the Daphne Police Department and booked into the Baldwin County Jail. He faces charges of possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana.

The Daphne Police Department has not yet released additional details about the circumstances surrounding the arrest or the ongoing investigation.
Gillum served as mayor of Tallahassee from 2014 to 2018. In 2018, he won the Democratic nomination for governor of Florida before narrowly losing the general election to Republican Ron DeSantis by approximately 30,000 votes.
The charges remain allegations, and Gillum is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
