Polk County Faces Flood Advisory Amid Heavy Rainfall

The National Weather Service in Tampa Bay/Ruskin has issued a Flood Advisory for Polk County, effective until 9:00 PM EDT this evening. Heavy rainfall from thunderstorms has already dropped 2 to 3.5 inches of rain, causing urban and small stream flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
An additional 1 to 1.5 inches of rain is expected, which may lead to minor flooding in areas like Lakeland, Combee Settlement, Fussels Corner, Gibsonia, and Winston. Residents are advised to avoid flooded roads and monitor local updates as conditions develop.
