Lake Alfred, FL— On Saturday, January 24, 2026, in the early morning hours, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Winter Garden man following a traffic stop on Interstate 4.
At approximately 12:47 a.m., a PCSO deputy observed a group of speeding vehicles appearing to compete in the eastbound lanes of I-4 near Mile Marker 54 in the Lake Alfred area.
Deputy Sheriff Del Moral pursued and stopped one of the vehicles, a blue 2021 Volkswagen GTI, which was traveling at 126 mph in a 70 mph zone.
The driver was identified as 21-year-old Christopher Dimitrov of Winter Garden.
Dimitrov was arrested and transported to the Sheriff’s Processing Center.
He was charged with:
- Street Racing (Misdemeanor 1)
- Reckless Driving (Misdemeanor 2)
- Dangerous Excessive Speeding (Misdemeanor 2)
