Osceola County Celebrates Opening of Westside Boulevard Extension
Osceola County, Florida – Osceola County officials, community partners, and residents gathered today to celebrate the grand opening of the Westside Boulevard Extension, a major infrastructure project designed to improve connectivity and mobility in one of the county’s fastest-growing areas.
The new extension creates a critical north-south corridor, linking existing segments of Westside Boulevard and improving access to key routes including U.S. 192 and Ronald Reagan Parkway. The project is expected to help alleviate congestion on heavily traveled roadways such as U.S. 27 and Goodman Road, while enhancing safety and travel reliability for residents and visitors.
Constructed as a four-lane divided roadway, the newly opened $11 million segment is part of the broader $20 million Westside Boulevard extension project. Funded through a combination of public infrastructure investment and private development contributions, the project showcases a strategic and cost-effective approach to supporting the area’s continued growth.
“As our community continues to grow, this project helps ensure our infrastructure keeps pace—supporting residents, businesses, visitors, and emergency services throughout the Four Corners and ChampionsGate areas,” said Osceola County District 1 Commissioner Peggy Choudhry. “This is about quality of life, giving people more time at home, supporting economic growth, and building a stronger transportation network for the future.”
The project was made possible through a collaborative effort between Osceola County and multiple private and engineering partners, including Steinhardt Builders and WD Site Development; Lennar Builders and Southern Development & Construction; Third Lake Development; and Harris Civil Engineers and Madden Engineering.
County officials also expressed appreciation to area residents and businesses for their patience during construction and their continued support throughout the project.
The opening of the Westside Boulevard Extension marks another step forward in Osceola County’s commitment to building a connected, efficient, and future-ready transportation network.
