FHP Identifies Six Victims of Fatal June 21 Crash on State Road 60

Florida Highway Patrol has released an update regarding the fatal crash that occurred on June 21, 2025, on State Road 60 west of S Kenansville Road in Osceola County. The incident involved a 2024 Hyundai Tucson and a semi-truck with trailer.

The following individuals, all occupants of the 2024 Hyundai Tucson, have been identified as the victims:

  • 26-year-old female driver from Fort Lauderdale, no seatbelt
  • 19-year-old female passenger from Fort Lauderdale, no seatbelt
  • 28-year-old female passenger from Fort Lauderdale, no seatbelt
  • 3-year-old female passenger from Fort Lauderdale, no seatbelt or child restraint
  • 4-month-old male passenger from Fort Lauderdale, no seatbelt or child restraint
  • 10-month-old male passenger from Fort Lauderdale, no seatbelt or child restraint

The driver of the semi-truck with trailer, a 36-year-old male from Miami Gardens, sustained minor injuries and was transported to Indian River Hospital.

The crash remains under investigation by FHP. A roadblock is currently in effect for both directions of travel on State Road 60. Nothing further at this time.

Osceola County, FL – At approximately 3:46 P.M. on Saturday, June 21, 2025, a fatal crash occurred on State Road 60 west of S Kenansville Road in Osceola County, involving a 2024 Hyundai Tucson and a 2011 semi-truck with trailer according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Preliminary evidence indicates the Hyundai Tucson was traveling westbound on State Road 60, while the semi-truck with trailer was traveling eastbound. The driver of the Hyundai Tucson entered the eastbound lane to pass several vehicles, then attempted to re-enter the westbound lane and lost control. The left side of the Hyundai Tucson struck the front of the semi-truck with trailer, causing both vehicles to become engulfed in flames.

All occupants of the Hyundai Tucson, totaling six individuals, were entrapped inside and pronounced deceased on-scene. The Medical Examiner’s Office is working to confirm their identities. Details from the incident report indicate the following: the driver of the Hyundai Tucson and five passengers, including possibly three adults and three children, all sustained fatal injuries. Seatbelt/child restraint usage is unknown for all occupants. 

The driver of the semi-truck with trailer, a 36-year-old male from Miami Gardens, was transported to Indian River Hospital with minor injuries. State Road 60 was closed for several hours. The crash remains under investigation.
