KISSIMMEE, FL – Friday, December 5, 2025 – A 30-year-old man was killed in a confrontation with Osceola County Sheriff’s deputies Friday night after an 11-hour standoff that began over a domestic battery investigation, authorities said.
The incident started around 10:40 a.m. when deputies responded to the Jamison Apartments near East Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway and Partin Settlement Road. As deputies attempted contact, the suspect barricaded himself inside, locked the door, and went live on Facebook, making suicidal statements while displaying a handgun.
For hours, hostage negotiators and family members tried to convince him to surrender peacefully. Late in the afternoon, deputies deployed a chemical agent. Just before 9:00 p.m., the suspect exited the apartment, lay prone on the ground, but kept the handgun pointed at his own head. Moments later, he fired the weapon. Deputies returned fire, striking him.
The suspect was transported to HCA Florida Osceola Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No deputies or bystanders were injured.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating the officer-involved shooting, per standard protocol. The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office will release the suspect’s identity after next-of-kin notifications are complete. Nothing further at this time.
