WINTER HAVEN, FL— The Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrested 33-year-old Tylor Scott Hartzog of Winter Haven on December 17, 2025, following a stabbing incident at the Tuff Luck Saloon located at 2390 Avenue G NW.
Deputies responded to the bar around 1:00 a.m. after receiving reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, they located an adult male victim with lacerations to his abdomen, wrist, head, and nose. The victim was bleeding profusely and had a broken nose.
Hartzog was taken into custody at the scene. Deputies recovered a Ka-Bar style military knife with an 8-inch blade believed to have been used in the attack.
Hartzog was booked into the Sheriff’s Processing Center and charged with Attempted Second-Degree Murder with a Weapon (first-degree felony) and Improper Exhibition of a Dangerous Weapon (first-degree misdemeanor).
Hartzog stated he acted in self-defense. Detectives determined, based on evidence and witness statements, that the actions constituted a criminal offense. Nothing further at this time.
