Tampa, FL. (July 23, 2025) – – The Tampa Police Department is investigating an incident that has now been classified as a homicide after a man critically injured in an early Sunday morning shooting on Whittier St. sadly died from his injuries.
The victim, an adult man in his early 30s, succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday, July 22. While his next of kin have been notified, his identity is being withheld as detectives meticulously work to determine the events that led to his death.
Detectives continue to actively gather crucial evidence and develop leads in this ongoing investigation. Investigators are asking local community members to review any security video they may have from the area near the 3600 block of Whittier St. between 5:45 am and 6:15 am on Sunday, July 20.
