The Lakeland Chamber of Commerce celebrated the grand opening of Vampire Penguin with a ribbon-cutting ceremony last week.
The event welcomed Vampire Penguin to the local business community at its location: 216 E Pine St, Lakeland, FL 33801.
Vampire Penguin specializes in a unique dessert known as “shaved snow.” This differs from traditional shaved ice, where flavor is poured over ice. Instead, it is made from a creamy frozen blend (described as ice cream) shaved into a snow-like consistency, resulting in a light and fluffy texture.
The dessert is presented on a frozen plate with various toppings, creating an visually appealing display suitable for photos before consumption.
The business highlights its low-calorie snow base, while noting that additional calories come from chosen toppings.
Vampire Penguin originated in Sacramento, CA, on October 31, 2013, with the goal of providing a lighter indulgence option. The shaved snow consists of airy layers that melt into smooth, sweet perfection, offering a decadent yet refreshing experience that is never heavy.
This marks the introduction of the dessert to Lakeland, where it is already receiving positive reception. Nothing further at this time.
