UCF Offensive Line Coach Shawn Clark, 50, Passes Away

Monday, September 22 – Orlando, FL – The University of Central Florida announced the sudden passing of offensive line coach Shawn Clark, who died Sunday evening at age 50 in a local hospital, with his wife, Jonelle, by his side. Clark was admitted September 9 after a medical emergency.

“Shawn was a remarkable man, husband, and father who deeply cared for his players,” said UCF head coach Scott Frost, noting Clark’s profound impact. UCF Athletics Director Terry Mohajir added, “Shawn’s passion and integrity left a lasting legacy.”

Clark joined UCF in December 2024 after a successful tenure at Appalachian State, where he posted a 40-24 record as head coach, including a 10-win season in 2021. A former All-American at App State, he coached multiple NFL draft picks and held degrees from App State and Louisville.

He is survived by his wife, Jonelle, and children, Giana and Braxton. The UCF community pledges support for the Clark family.
