LAKE COUNTY, FL – Two Mascotte teens were killed in a single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning at the intersection of County Road 565 and Sloans Ridge Road near Groveland, Florida, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The teens were traveling southbound in a 2018 Dodge Challenger on County Road 565, approaching Sloans Ridge Road, when the driver lost control. The Dodge Challenger ran off the roadway to the right and collided with multiple trees. The vehicle became engulfed in flames as a result.
The driver, a 19-year-old male, and the passenger, a 17-year-old male—both from Mascotte, Florida—were pronounced deceased at the scene. Next of kin have been notified for both individuals.
The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol. No additional details have been released.
