On August 2, 2025, at 2:34 AM, a 2011 Toyota RAV-4 traveling westbound on State Road 520 in Brevard County crashed after losing control. The vehicle struck a traffic control light pole, caught fire, and became engulfed in flames. The driver and passenger were trapped inside and pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Medical Examiner’s Office is working to identify the victims. The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the incident. The crash occurred at the intersection with Kiwanis Island Park Road, and authorities have not yet released additional details regarding the cause.
