Tampa, FL. (July 7, 2025) — The Tampa Police Department conducted operation “Red, White, and Sober” over the Fourth of July weekend to help keep the community safe. From July 3 – 6, officers focused on speeding, reckless driving and other traffic violations as part of this initiative.
In addition to this operation, Tampa Police partnered with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) and the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) on a DUI-focused initiative aimed at identifying and removing impaired drivers from the road.
Tampa Police Department Enforcement Totals:
- 29 DUI arrests
- 345 traffic citations
- 628 warnings issued
“This operation was about more than enforcement, it was about saving lives,” said Chief Lee Bercaw. “We want to thank everyone who made smart choices and helped make this Fourth of July safer for all. We’re grateful to our officers and our law enforcement partners for their dedication to our community.”
