Bartow, Fla. (Feb. 1, 2026) — Polk County Fire Rescue (PCFR) units responded Sunday morning to a reported fire on Scenic View Street in Lakeland.
Upon arrival, crews found a single-wide mobile home fully involved in fire, with an individual potentially trapped inside.
Firefighters extinguished the fire and, once conditions allowed safe entry, conducted a search of the structure. One individual was located inside and pronounced dead at the scene.
Notification of next of kin remains pending.
No Polk County Fire Rescue personnel sustained injuries during the incident.
