Pinellas County Jail Goes Paperless with Digital Inmate Mail System Starting April 15

Pinellas County Jail To Transition To Paperless Inmate Correspondence

PINELLAS COUNTY – The Pinellas County Jail is set to modernize inmate
correspondence by going paperless through its partnership with Smart
Communications. Beginning on April 15, 2025, all incoming personal and legal
mail will be digitized and made accessible to inmates via Smart Communications.

SENDING PERSONAL MAIL TO INMATES: Family and friends can continue to send
personal letters to inmates by addressing them to:

Attention To: (INMATE NAME and ID NUMBER)
P.O. Box 9129 Seminole, FL 33775-9129

It is essential to include the inmate’s name and ID number, as all mail that
is missing this information will be returned to the sender. Once the mail is
scanned, regular mailincluding postcards, letters, greeting cards, and
pictureswill be available for inmates to view electronically. Senders are
advised to only mail copies of documents or photos they do not want returned.

To track mail delivery status, sign up for a MailGuardTracker.com account,
where notifications of rejected mail and downloadable copies of received
correspondence will be available. After release from custody, inmates can
access their messages and postal mail at https://www.smartinmate.com for free.

LEGAL AND PRIVILEGED MAIL FOR INMATES: Attorneys can send legal and privileged
correspondence electronically using SmartInmate or by mailing legal mail to
the below address. After registration, attorneys may securely send messages
and documents.

loved ones through a fast, secure electronic messaging system via
