Osceola County Celebrates Ribbon Cutting for New Walking Trail Expansion

Osceola County District 2 Commissioner Viviana Janer joined County leaders and staff earlier today to celebrate the completion of new half mile walking trail, connecting with a previous first phase located in 65th Infantry Veterans Park. Commissioner Janer delivered brief remarks before joining representatives from the County’s contractor, Arnco Construction, to officially cut the ribbon and lead attendees on a walk along the newly completed trail.

The expansion enhances recreational opportunities for residents while preserving the park’s natural beauty. As part of the project, 19 Southern oak trees, 25 bald cypress trees, and 11 winged elm trees were planted to provide shade and complement the picturesque walking paths. New amenities, including a bike rack and trash receptacles, were also installed to improve convenience and help maintain a clean and welcoming environment.

In addition to the trail expansion, safety improvements were completed in the park’s first phase, including repairs to damaged sidewalks and concrete near the playground. These enhancements ensure the park remains a safe and accessible space for families and visitors.

“This investment reflects our continued commitment to creating safe, inviting, and connected spaces where families can gather, exercise, and enjoy the outdoors together,” said Commissioner Viviana Janer during the ceremony.
