On June 19, 2025, Jared Andrew Tatum, a 31-year-old engineering teacher and tutor at Bishop Moore High School, was arrested by the Orlando Police Department’s Fugitive Investigative Unit. Tatum faces charges of Lewd Touching of Certain Minors and Attempted Sexual Battery of a Victim Over 12 following an incident reported on May 7, 2025.
According to authorities, a student at Bishop Moore High School notified school officials of inappropriate touching by Tatum during a tutoring session. The school promptly contacted the Orlando Police Department and terminated Tatum’s employment.
Following a thorough investigation, including interviews, collected statements, and DNA evidence, police established grounds for the charges.
Tatum was apprehended without incident. At this time, there is no evidence of additional victims, but the investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Orlando Police Department. Nothing further at this time.
