Tropical Weather Update: Potential System Off Southeastern U.S. Coast
June 2, 2025, 2:00 PM EDT
The National Hurricane Center in Miami is tracking a potential weather system off the southeastern U.S. coast. A non-tropical area of low pressure is expected to form near or just offshore of the region within the next couple of days.
Should the system remain offshore, it may gradually take on subtropical or tropical characteristics later this week as it moves northeastward at 10 to 15 mph. The likelihood of development is currently low, with a near 0 percent chance of formation within 48 hours and a 10 percent chance over the next 7 days.
Coastal residents and mariners are encouraged to stay updated with the latest forecasts from the National Hurricane Center.
