Raiford, FL – September 17, 2025 – Florida is scheduled to execute 63-year-old David Pittman by lethal injection at 6 p.m. today at the Florida State Prison in Raiford. Pittman was convicted in 1990 for the murders of Barbara Knowles, her husband Clarence Knowles, and their daughter, Bonnie Knowles, in Mulberry.
The killings occurred on May 24, 1990, when David Joseph Pittman used a butcher knife to stab them to death, set their house on fire, and flee in Bonnie’s car, which he later burned.
Governor Ron DeSantis signed Pittman’s death warrant on August 15, 2025. Both courts denied his appeals, allowing the execution to proceed. David Pittman has been on death row for thirty-five years.
