PER FDOT: Lakeland — All lanes have been reopened on US 98 approximately 3/10 of a mile north of W Socrum Loop Road. Law enforcement had been flagging and diverting traffic in that area since early this afternoon for a single-vehicle motorcycle crash investigation.
– Initial Report –
Lakeland, FL – April 2, 2025 – According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, a serious motorcycle crash occurred near Hwy 98 N and Hall Rd late this morning. Units were dispatched at approximately 11:46 AM following a 911 report of a motorcycle colliding with a pole.
The motorcyclist sustained an injury to his head and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital per PCSO. Traffic continues to be delayed in both directions of Hwy 98. Avoid the area if possible. We will provide an update as soon as more information becomes available.
