LAKELAND, FL – February 22, 2026 – Detectives from the Lakeland Police Department are actively investigating a fatal shooting that took place early Sunday morning outside the Jade Fox Lounge, located at 3010 Lakeland Highlands Road.
The incident occurred shortly after 2:00 a.m. on February 22, 2026, as patrons were leaving the establishment. Officers responding to the scene found a 38-year-old man, identified as Deandre Montgomery Sr., on the ground outside the business. He had been shot and was transported to Lakeland Regional Health, where he succumbed to his injuries despite lifesaving efforts by medical personnel.
Preliminary findings from witness interviews and evidence collected indicate that the victim and the suspect were known to each other. The investigation into the homicide remains active and ongoing.
