Lakeland, FL – On October 24, 2025, the Lakeland Police Department arrested Jazrick Haggins, a 42-year-old Hillsborough County high school principal, on a warrant from Hillsborough County for failing to report child abuse.
The arrest stems from an investigation initiated on May 9, 2025, by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Section. The case involves a 4-year-old victim who was allegedly inappropriately touched by a 16-year-old suspect at a daycare operated at Spoto High School.
The allegations were reported to Haggins in April 2025 but were not reported to the Department of Children and Families or law enforcement for 14 days. Haggins admitted to knowing about the allegations and stated he was conducting his own investigation.
Haggins was transported to Polk County Jail following his arrest and is awaiting extradition to Hillsborough County. Nothing further at this time.
