LAKE ALFRED, FL — Polk County Public Schools (PCPS) is proud to honor fifth-grade teacher Brittany Keller of Lake Alfred Elementary School, who has been named a LifeChanger of the Year by National Life Group.
The prestigious award recognizes outstanding K-12 educators who exemplify excellence, provide positive influence, and demonstrate strong leadership in making a lasting difference in their students’ lives.
Keller was celebrated earlier this week for her innovative and engaging approach to teaching. Her classroom stands out with creative transformations, including an exterior decorated like a mid-century modern home, designed to spark curiosity and excitement. She creates hands-on lessons that keep students actively involved while emphasizing essential life skills, accountability, and collaboration.
Beyond her classroom, Keller excels in professional development, generously sharing her effective strategies with fellow educators to help elevate teaching across the district. She also joined the school’s PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) Team at the start of the 2025 school year, bringing fresh energy to the “Lion Way” culture and revitalizing school-wide initiatives.
This recognition follows her earlier acclaim: Last year, Keller was featured on PCPS social media as one of the district’s Focused on Excellence winners, a quarterly program that highlights exceptional employee contributions.
As part of the LifeChanger of the Year honor, Keller will receive $3,000 to share with Lake Alfred Elementary School, supporting students and programs she is deeply invested in.
