HCFR Rescues and Revives Dog After Tampa Townhouse Fire

Tampa, FL – On Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 9:02 AM, Hillsborough County Fire Rescue (HCFR) responded to a townhouse fire at Ashburn Lake Drive, Tampa, FL, after multiple 911 callers reported a car ablaze in a garage. The first engine arrived within seven minutes and found heavy fire coming from a vehicle inside the garage of a two-story residence.

Firefighters rapidly deployed hoses to knock down the car fire, preventing flames from spreading further into the home. During a search of the residence, crews located an unresponsive dog. Paramedics on scene administered oxygen and aid, successfully reviving the pet, which was later transported to a local veterinary hospital by its owner.

No injuries to residents or firefighters were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
