Florida Sets New Tourism Record: 143.3 Million Visitors in 2025

TALLAHASSEE, FL – Governor Ron DeSantis announced that Florida achieved another historic milestone in tourism, welcoming a record 143.3 million visitors in calendar year 2025 according to preliminary estimates from VISIT FLORIDA. This marks continued growth for the Sunshine State, which remains the number one domestic travel destination in the United States and a leading choice for international travelers. The strong performance is credited to Florida’s world-class attractions, strategic marketing, and ongoing investments in infrastructure, public safety, and environmental protection.

Key numbers – 2025 full year

  • Total visitors: 143.3 million (+0.2% from 2024)
  • Domestic visitors: 131.1 million (91.5% of total, +0.3% from 2024)
  • Overseas visitors: 9.3 million (6.5%)
  • Canadian visitors: 2.9 million (2.0%)

Fourth quarter 2025 (October–December)

  • Total visitors: 33.5 million (highest Q4 on record, +0.6% from Q4 2024)
  • Domestic: 30.31 million (90.5%)
  • International: 3.2 million (9.5%)
  • Airport passengers at 19 Florida airports: 27.4 million (+2.8% from Q4 2024)

International highlights

  • Brazil is now the #2 overseas market (+10.4% growth)
  • Argentina: +17.8%
  • Spain: +10.4% (entered top 10 source countries)
  • Growth also reported from United Kingdom, France, Italy, and Netherlands

Florida remains the #1 domestic travel destination in the United States.

Domestic visitors traveled mostly by car/other (64.2%) rather than air (35.8%).

Governor Ron DeSantis emphasized that these results deliver real economic benefits to Florida residents. VISIT FLORIDA and the Florida Department of Commerce highlighted the role of the state’s businesses, attractions, and targeted marketing in maintaining Florida’s top position.

These figures are preliminary. Final confirmed numbers will be released in spring 2026.
