TAMPA, FL – The Tampa Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in Ybor City near the intersection of E 5th Avenue and N 22nd Street.
Officers responded to reports of a shot fired and located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Preliminary investigation indicates the incident stemmed from a roadway dispute. The shooter, an adult male, has claimed self-defense and is cooperating with detectives. The firearm involved has been recovered.
There is no ongoing threat to the public.

- N 22nd Street between E 4th Avenue and E 5th Avenue
- E 5th Avenue between N 21st Street and N 22nd Street
