Fatal I-4 Accident: High-Speed Motorcyclist Overturns, Sustains Fatal Injuries, FHP Reports

TAMPA, Fla. — A 39-year-old Orlando man died in a fatal crash on Interstate 4 west of US-301 in the early hours of Saturday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:06 AM when the man, operating a Yamaha motorcycle at a high rate of speed, was traveling eastbound in the center lane of I-4.

Authorities report that the motorcyclist lost control, causing the bike to overturn. The motorcycle veered into the inside lane, where it collided with the rear of an Audi Q7 driven by a 67-year-old Seminole man.

The motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries. The driver of the Audi Q7 and all passengers in the vehicle were unharmed, officials confirmed.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the motorcycle’s overturn and the circumstances leading to the crash. The motorcyclist’s identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
