Lake County, FL – On Sunday, October 19, 2025, at 10:23 PM, a fatal crash occurred on State Road 50 west of Sloans Ridge Road.
A 2024 Toyota Crown, driven by a 24-year-old male from Clermont, was traveling eastbound and failed to negotiate a curve, entering the westbound lane. The Toyota Crown collided head-on with a 2015 Freightliner semi tractor-trailer driven by a 69-year-old male from Tampa. The impact caused the Toyota Crown to become partially engulfed in flames. The driver of the Toyota Crown was pronounced deceased at the scene, and next of kin were notified. The driver of the Freightliner was transported to South Lake Hospital with minor injuries.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts. Nothing further at this time.
