Fatal Crash on Old Polk City Road Involving Pickup Truck and Tractor-Trailer
Haines City, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) is investigating a fatal collision that occurred on Old Polk City Road, east of CR-557, on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at approximately 7am.
According to FHP, a Ford F150 pickup truck, driven by a 61 year old man from Lake Wales, was traveling westbound when it collided with the rear of a stopped tractor-trailer. The tractor-trailer, operated by a 38 year old man from Avon Park, was stationary due to other traffic at the time of the crash.
The driver of the pickup truck sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The tractor-trailer driver was uninjured. Old Polk City Road was temporarily closed in the area as FHP troopers conducted their investigation.
