TAMPA, FL – April 6, 2026 – A 28-year-old Tampa man died early Monday morning after a single-vehicle crash on SR-400 near Milepost 1.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 2:25 a.m. when the driver of a Dodge Durango lost control while traveling westbound. The Dodge Durango entered the median, overturned several times, and the unrestrained driver was ejected from the vehicle.
The driver was transported to an area hospital, where he later died from injuries sustained in the crash.
A 26-year-old Tampa woman, who was riding as a passenger and was properly restrained, suffered only minor injuries.
No other vehicles were involved in the incident. The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
