
Orange County, FL. — On June 20, 2025, at approximately 11:50 p.m., a fatal crash occurred on Apopka Vineland Road near AD Mims Road in Orange County.
A 2016 Honda Odyssey, driven by a 65-year-old man, was traveling northbound in the outside lane of Apopka Vineland Road, approaching AD Mims Road. At the same time, a 45-year-old bicyclist from Orlando was traveling northbound in the designated bicycle lane on the same road.
The driver of the Honda Odyssey veered into the bicycle lane and struck the bicyclist. Following the collision, the Honda Odyssey continued northbound on Apopka Vineland Road. The bicyclist was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.
The driver of the Honda Odyssey later turned himself in to the Apopka Police Department at 1:48 a.m. on June 21, 2025, stating he may have hit something in the area. The vehicle has been taken into evidence by authorities.
The Florida Highway Patrol is actively investigating the crash, with troopers interviewing the driver to determine the cause of the incident. No further details have been released at this time
