Collision Involving Mazda CX-5, Box Truck, and Semi-Trailer at Intersection Results in One Fatality

Orlando, FL – On July 23, 2025, at approximately 12:15 AM, a fatal crash occurred at the intersection of Orange Blossom Trail and Consulate Drive in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

A 2013 Mazda CX-5 (Vehicle 1), driven by a 48-year-old male from Orlando, was traveling southbound on Orange Blossom Trail in the outside lane. A 2022 box truck (Vehicle 2), driven by a 58-year-old male from Jacksonville, was traveling southbound in the center lane. A 2016 semi-truck with trailer (Vehicle 3), driven by a 37-year-old male from Land O Lakes, was in the eastbound left turn lane on Consulate Drive, attempting to turn northbound onto Orange Blossom Trail.

The driver of Vehicle 1 failed to maintain control, sideswiping Vehicle 2. This caused Vehicle 1 to redirect southwest, colliding with the left rear of Vehicle 3. The driver of Vehicle 1 was pronounced deceased at the scene. The drivers of Vehicles 2 and 3 sustained no injuries and remained at the scene.

Vehicle 1’s driver was not wearing a seatbelt. Vehicle 2’s driver was wearing a seatbelt, and Vehicle 3’s driver was also wearing a seatbelt. Next of kin for Vehicle 1’s driver have been notified.

The crash remains under investigation by Trooper Agosto and Corporal Bonner of the Florida Highway Patrol.
