Bomb Threat Reported at Auburndale High and Two Other Polk County Schools

AUBURNDALE, FL — Auburndale High School was briefly placed on heightened security Tuesday after receiving a suspicious phone call regarding a bomb threat, one of three similar false threats reported at Polk County high schools.

According to Polk County Public Schools, “swatting” or bomb threat calls were received at Auburndale High School, Davenport High School and Haines City High School.

Parents and families at Auburndale High were sent an email informing them of the situation. Law enforcement conducted a search of the campus and determined there was no danger. All students and staff were reported safe, and the school resumed normal operations.

School officials said the threat was determined to be a false report. Additional details regarding the threats at Davenport and Haines City high schools were not immediately provided. Nothing further.
