Ormond Beach, FL — On June 19, 2025, the Volusia Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with the Ormond Beach Police Department, arrested 33-year-old Scott Allen Gardner in connection with the death of his 18-month-old son, Sebastian. The incident occurred on June 6, 2025, when Gardner allegedly left Sebastian in a hot truck for over three hours while he visited a barbershop and Hanky Panky’s Lounge.
According to authorities, Gardner provided multiple inconsistent statements during the investigation. Medical personnel estimated Sebastian’s body temperature reached 111 degrees while inside the vehicle. An Ormond Beach Police Department officer attempted to revive Sebastian but was unsuccessful.
Gardner faces charges of aggravated manslaughter of a child and neglect of a child causing great bodily harm. He is currently in custody as the investigation continues.
