Auburndale Man Pleads Guilty to Second-Degree Murder in 2025 Homicide

Andrew Alan Ridgeway (DOB: 12/21/1978) entered a guilty plea on Friday, January 9, 2026, to second-degree murder and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence in connection with the death of Stacy Ann Powell (DOB: 04/26/1976).

The Auburndale Police Department investigated the homicide on February 6, 2025. Ridgeway was later charged by the department with second-degree murder and tampering/fabricating with physical evidence regarding Powell’s death.

As part of the plea, Ridgeway was adjudicated guilty and sentenced to 35 years in state prison.

This resolution stems from the initial investigation by the Auburndale Police Department into Powell’s death.
