SEATTLE, WA — Amazon has announced a temporary 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge on Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) fees, set to take effect April 17, 2026, according to a notice sent to sellers.
The surcharge will apply to orders fulfilled through FBA in the United States and Canada and will be calculated based on fulfillment fees rather than item prices.
Beginning May 2, the additional charge will also extend to the company’s “Buy with Prime” and multi-channel fulfillment services in those regions.

Amazon said the temporary fee is intended to offset rising fuel and logistics costs, which have increased across the shipping industry. The company noted it had previously absorbed these costs but is now implementing the surcharge to cover a portion of the increase.
The move follows similar surcharges introduced by major carriers as global fuel prices rise, impacting transportation and supply chain operations.
Amazon emphasized the surcharge is temporary and reiterated its commitment to supporting sellers and maintaining competitive prices for customers. Nothing further at this time.
