Vehicle Ignites After Driver Fails to Navigate Curve, Collides with Tree

Sumter County, FL — On August 24, 2025, at approximately 8:10 AM, a fatal single-vehicle crash occurred on southbound Interstate 75, just prior to Exit 309, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

An unidentified male driver was operating a Ford F-150 southbound on I-75. The driver failed to negotiate a curve, causing the vehicle to depart the roadway and collide with a tree. Upon impact, the vehicle caught fire, and the driver sustained fatal injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
