New Port Richey, FL – On August 21, 2025, at approximately 5:01 PM, New Port Richey Police Department officers responded to a domestic incident in the 4500 block of Slippery Rock Road.
Upon arrival, officers found a male victim inside the residence with severe chemical burns. Emergency Medical Services were notified, and the victim was airlifted by Bayflight to Tampa General Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
The investigation determined that the defendant, Chuanying He (DOB: 12/04/1974), intentionally poured acid on the victim while he was in bed. The defendant then barricaded the bedroom door and contacted 911 to report the incident. Evidence indicates the act was premeditated.
Chuanying He was arrested without incident and charged with Attempted First-Degree Murder and Aggravated Battery resulting in serious bodily injury. The investigation remains ongoing, but the incident is considered isolated, with no current threat to the public.
