Ormond Beach, FL – On August 9, 2025, the Florida Highway Patrol reported a traffic incident on State Road 40 west of Pine Woods Road.
A 2017 CAN-AM Outlander ATV, traveling westbound on the eastbound right grass shoulder, collided with a 1985 Honda CMX250 motorcycle traveling eastbound in the travel lane. The ATV, operated by a 28-year-old female from Ormond Beach, carried a 22-year-old female passenger, both of whom sustained serious injuries and were transported to Halifax Health Medical Center.
The motorcycle, operated by a 35-year-old male from Ormond Beach, resulted in a fatal injury to the driver, who was pronounced deceased at the scene. Neither the ATV driver nor passenger wore helmets, while the motorcycle driver did.
Next of kin notification occurred for the motorcycle driver. The crash remains under investigation. Nothing further at this time.
