On June 28, 2025, at 12:57 AM, a fatal crash occurred at the intersection of US-19 and Trouble Creek Road in New Port Richey, Florida, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. A 46-year-old Tampa man driving a Mercedes sedan was traveling northbound on US-19 with a green traffic signal.
A 60-year-old New Port Richey woman in a wheelchair attempted to cross the highway against a red pedestrian signal. The woman entered the path of the vehicle and was struck. She was transported to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
