LAKELAND, FL – The largest hospital in Polk County, Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center, has earned national recognition for the 12th time since 2013 for its use of advanced technology to improve patient care and healthcare services.
According to Lakeland Regional Health, the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) recognized the health system in its annual Digital Health Most Wired program, awarding Level 8 recognition to both its Medical Center and outpatient locations.
The recognition highlights the organization’s use of secure digital technology to improve patient experiences, strengthen cybersecurity, and enhance communication between patients and healthcare providers.
Lakeland Regional Health offers several advanced digital services, including a patient portal that allows individuals to access medical information in real time, schedule appointments, make payments, communicate with providers, and receive reminders for recommended screenings and vaccinations.

“This recognition reflects our entire organization’s commitment to investing in technology that delivers positive patient experiences and high-level, personalized care at the Medical Center and outpatient locations,” said Ana Kalman, senior vice president and chief information officer/chief applications officer.
CHIME evaluated more than 44,000 healthcare organizations during this year’s survey. Lakeland Regional Health ranked above peer organizations in several categories, including clinical quality and safety, cybersecurity, patient engagement, data management, and innovation.
Hospital officials said the continued investment in technology helps improve coordination among healthcare teams while making medical services more accessible and convenient for patients.
