FOUR CORNERS, FL — An adult male bicyclist was killed Wednesday morning after a crash involving a Jeep Wrangler on U.S. Highway 192 in Lake County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash occurred at approximately 9:47 a.m. near the intersection of U.S. Highway 192 and Town Center Boulevard. A 2020 Jeep Wrangler, driven by a 42-year-old Kissimmee man, was traveling westbound in the outside lane and was attempting to enter the right-turn lane when it collided head-on with an eastbound bicyclist who was riding in the westbound bicycle lane.
The bicyclist, an adult male whose identity has not yet been released, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Medical Examiner’s Office is working to positively identify the victim and will notify the Florida Highway Patrol once identification has been made.
The Jeep driver was not injured, remained at the scene, and was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
