MULBERRY, FL — Two people were injured Saturday morning after an ultralight aircraft struck power lines and made an emergency landing on State Road 60 in Mulberry.
The crash occurred at approximately 11:30 a.m. on July 4, 2026, in the westbound lanes of SR 60 shortly after the aircraft took off.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the ultralight plane hit power lines before making what authorities described as an extremely hard landing on the highway.
